Pregnant? Here Are the Toxic Products You Should Stop Using - And What To Use Instead!

Pregnant? Here Are the Toxic Products You Should Stop Using - And What To Use Instead!

Congratulations on being newly pregnant! There is so much to think about during this exciting time, but especially during the first trimester, you should think about making some swaps to your beauty products. These swaps are great even if you're not pregnant, but especially important when you're growing a little person.

Here are our Top 5 Products to Switch Out When You're Pregnant:

1. Deodorant with Aluminum

Even your armpits can absorb toxic chemicals. Make sure you're using something natural & non-toxic, especially during pregnancy. Consider switching to something like our Habit All Natural Deodorant.

Humble contains four to five organic and all-natural ingredients that you can pronounce (and might, in fact, have in your own kitchen). Humble is both effective and safe, containing no aluminum or parabens while still keeping you dry and free of offensive odors.

2. Retinol

Retinol is a chemical used to reduce fine lines and wrinkles. We don't recommend usage even when not pregnant, but it's definitely not safe to use while you are pregnant. Instead, try what's referred to as "nature's retinol" - Bakuchiol. Naturally derived and non-toxic, get the same results without the side effects.

Try it in our Fit-Glow Night Essence Toner. Spray on before bed for best results.

3. Ibuprofen

Yes, Ibuprofen is off limits when pregnant. Have headaches or migraines? Try our migraine masks for cooling relief. Simply pop them into the freezer and pull them out if needed.

4. Chemical Sunscreens

You're looking for a daily SPF that's safe and chemical free. Use something with zinc-oxide as the active UV-blocker, instead of harsh chemicals.

Our line from Suntegrity is free of: Parabens, Phthalates, Propylene Glycol, Mineral Oils, Synthetic Dyes, Sulfates, Paba, Titanium Dioxide, Nano-Particles and Chemical UV Absorbers.

5. Shampoo with Preservatives & Fragrances

Artificial fragrances can be endocrine disruptors, so skip the unnecessary chemicals in your shampoo and/or conditioner. Switch to a clean and natural alternative, like our line from Missio. Formulated without sulfates, parabens or phthalates, this shampoo is especially nourishing for dry, damaged or color treated hair.
