Nobody here will say a word about what you've had done before. Every manicure and pedicure uses non-toxic, vegan, cruelty-free polish and gel, in a room that doesn't smell like a nail salon. Our Russian manicure pairs detailed e-file cuticle work with a structured gel overlay that lasts 4–5 weeks.

Our Roses are Reiki-certified, trained in oncology protocols and trained for chemical sensitivities, and they have completed trauma-informed and gender-affirming training.
Which matters more than it sounds. If you are in treatment and were told you could not get your nails done anymore, if remover has ever made your eyes water, or if you have been quoted a different price for the same service because of how you look — none of that is a conversation you have to open here. Put it in your booking notes, or say nothing and let us ask.
Our pricing does not change with your gender, and we are non-tipping: the price on the menu is the whole price. Every Rose is a W-2 employee on a living wage with paid leave and benefits.

I can’t say enough good things about this place. I love that everything they sell and use is non-toxic (especially hard to find for nails!) I’ve been getting regular manicures and pedicures here for a few years now and even if I didn’t live close by I would commute. It’s worth it! They just added a foot massage service that is MAGICAL. What makes Lena Rose a non-toxic nail salon?
Everything on our tray is chosen with the same intention for health and safety as everything on our shelves, and we favor small, independently owned makers. Our gel is vegan, cruelty-free and 10-free. Dazzle Dry is a polish system that dries in about five minutes without a lamp. And the room does not smell like a nail salon, which is usually the first thing people notice when they walk in. If you want to know exactly what is going on your hands, ask — we will hand you the bottle.
How much is a manicure or pedicure in Chicago at Lena Rose?
Manicures start at $40 for the Classic Lena Manicure, 30 minutes with nail shaping, cuticle care, massage with reflexology and a herbal towel wrap. Gel is $65, Dazzle Dry extended wear is $55, the Structured Manicure is $95 and the Russian Structured Gel Manicure is $125. Pedicures start at $85 for the Classic Lena Pedicure, with Gel and Dazzle Dry at $95 and the Fire & Ice Wellness Pedicure at $125. What is a Russian manicure, and is my nail safe?
It is a dry, detailed cuticle technique done with an e-file, finished with a structured gel overlay. What people book it for is real retention, flawless cuticles, and nails that look freshly done two weeks later — four to five weeks of wear is normal. It takes 90 minutes and it is $125. The technique asks a lot of the person holding the file, which is why not every salon offers it well. We use only non-toxic, vegan and cruelty-free gel formulas. If you have never had one, say so when you book and your tech will walk you through what they are doing as they go.
Do you do gel, and how do you take it off?
Yes. A Gel Manicure is $65, a Gel Pedicure is $95, and gel polish as an add-on to another service is $25. We guarantee our work with free repairs if the polish chips within five days. Removal matters as much as application, so we do it as its own service rather than rushing it — Gentle Gel Removal is $15, and removal of Gel X extensions, acrylic, hard gel or dip is $25. Please do not pick it off at home and then feel bad about it. We have seen it. Nobody is going to say anything.
Can I have my nails done during pregnancy, or during cancer treatment?
Yes, and please tell us before we start so we can build the service around it. Our Roses are trained in oncology protocols and trained for chemical sensitivities, so adjusting a service is ordinary here rather than a special request. Our ventilation and our product standards are the reason a lot of people in treatment, or newly pregnant, can sit in a nail chair at all. If you are in active treatment, check with your care team first, then tell us what they said and we will work inside it. Do you take tips?
No, and that is on purpose. Lena Rose is non-tipping: the price on the menu is the whole price. Every Rose is a W-2 employee on a living wage with paid leave and benefits, so nobody depends on tips to make their month. People often assume we are expensive because we are natural — in practice we land within a few percent of a conventional salon once that salon's tip is counted.
Do I need an appointment, and where are you?
Our Lincoln Square shop is at 4645 N Rockwell St, Chicago, IL 60625, open Monday 10–7, Wednesday to Friday 10–7, and weekends 9–6. We are closed Tuesdays. Booking ahead is the surest way to get the time and the Rose you want — use the booking button on this page, or call 872-227-8943 and a Rose will get you sorted. If you are nearby and hoping for something same-day, call and we will tell you honestly what is open. There is a second shop in downtown Naperville running the same menu.
