Who's doing your facial

Our Roses are Reiki-certified, trained in oncology protocols and trained for chemical sensitivities, and they have completed trauma-informed and gender-affirming training.

So if you are in treatment, if your skin reacts to things nobody has ever been able to explain to you, or if you have been misgendered at a front desk before — you do not have to walk us through it first. Put it in your booking notes, or tell us in the room. Either is fine.

Every product we use on your face was reviewed by us before it reached the shelf. That part is the floor, not the pitch.

A simple, steady facial, and a good first one. A cleanse, exfoliation and an Apoterra mask under warm steam, finished with a balm or facial oil. Face only, so there's no need to change. Ages 13 and up with a parent's consent.

Our 100% vegan facial. After a conversation about your skin, your esthetician steps out to choose your products, then begins with a long oil cleanse and facial massage. Avocado oil for your neck and décolleté while the exfoliant works; hands and arms while the mask sets.

Lena Rose is non-tipping: the price on the menu is the whole price. Every Rose is a W-2 employee on a living wage with paid leave and benefits. Prices are the same at Lincoln Square and Naperville. Need to cancel? Give us 24 hours’ notice and there is no charge.

Which facial should I book?

New to facials, or keeping things steady? Start with the Classic Lena Facial, 35 minutes at $95. Something specific going on — texture, breakouts, dullness, dryness — book the 60 Minute Custom Facial at $160, which opens with a real consultation so the protocol is built around your skin that day; there is a 90-minute version at $190 if you want more time on it. If plant-based skincare is the whole point for you, the Plant Powered Facial is 50 minutes at $135. The Rose Reserve is our longest at 1 hour 50 minutes and $260 — breathwork, targeted skin therapy and massage from scalp to feet. Still unsure? Book the 60 minute and tell us at the start.

How often should I actually get a facial?

Four times a year, at the turns of the seasons, plus the right routine at home. That is the honest answer and it is fewer facials than most places will tell you. Your skin changes with the weather, and a seasonal reset is what it genuinely needs. Monthly is a lovely thing and we are glad to see you, but it is a nice-to-have rather than a standard — it makes most sense for someone actively working on changing their skin. Fall is the best time to come: it undoes a hard summer and strengthens your barrier before a Midwest winter.

How much does a facial cost in Chicago at Lena Rose?

From $95 for the 35-minute Classic Lena Facial up to $260 for the Rose Reserve. In between: the 60 Minute Custom Facial is $160, the 90-minute version is $190, the Plant Powered Facial is $135, the Fire & Ice Wellness Facial + Peel is $225, and a Fruit Acid Peel Treatment is $98. We do not accept tips — every Rose is a W-2 employee on a living wage with paid leave and benefits — so the price you see is the price you pay.

Can I get a facial while pregnant, in treatment, or with reactive skin?

Tell us before we start and we will build the treatment around it. Our Roses are trained for chemical sensitivities and trained in oncology protocols, and they have completed trauma-informed and gender-affirming training, so adjusting a protocol is ordinary here. Peels are the one exception worth naming: not everyone is a candidate, and your esthetician will do a thorough consultation before doing one. If you are pregnant, in treatment, or using prescription skincare, check with your care team first, then tell us what they said and we will work inside it. You can also call 872-227-8943 ahead of your appointment.

What products do you use on my skin?

Whole-plant lines like Laurel Skin and Blissoma, plus our own House Line, which we make by hand. No synthetic fragrance, no parabens, no formaldehyde. Everything is chosen with intention for health and safety, and many of the small, independent makers we use had Lena Rose as their first retail partner. If you want to know exactly what went on your face, ask at any point and your esthetician will hand you the bottle.

Will someone try to sell me a shelf of products afterwards?

No. What is bundled into the price of your facial is an hour with someone who knows ingredients — natural and synthetic — better than almost anyone in this city, because choosing products this carefully makes them that way. What you get at the end is an honest read on your routine, including the parts that are already working and the products you can stop buying. Nine times out of ten what someone needs is more water in their routine, not a new moisturizer. What you do every day matters far more than how often you see us.

I am embarrassed about my skin. Is that going to be a thing?

It is not. People think we are self-righteous about all this, but we are the least judgmental place you will walk into. Drugstore products, a chemical past, three years since your last facial, no routine at all — none of it earns a comment. Say what you want out of the hour and that is what we will do.
