Gentle by design. Safe by standard.

Not every spa can welcome guests in cancer treatment. We can. Every Rose completes Lena Rose's in-house oncology care certification, so you can have a manicure, a pedicure or a facial during treatment or recovery, safely and with your care team's OK.

The goal isn't a perfect set or a dramatic glow. It's comfort, protection and an hour where you feel like yourself again. You don't have to explain anything to us.

Before you book

  • If you're in active chemotherapy, targeted therapy or radiation, please check with your doctor first. We book once your care team has cleared you.
  • Call either shop to book Oncology Care. We'll match you with a Rose and, when we can, the first appointment of the day, when the room is freshest.
  • Every visit starts with a short intake form, because treatment can change from week to week.

What we'll ask you

Where your port is, and any IV or blood-draw sites. Any surgery, and where it's still healing. Whether you've had lymph nodes removed, and on which side. Where you're getting radiation. Whether you have numbness or tingling in your hands or feet. How you're feeling today, including whether smells bother you. And how you're most comfortable lying down.

Then it's your choice: fragrance-free, a shorter or longer visit, quiet or chatty, warmer or cooler.

What's different about your service

Manicures and pedicures

  • Every Oncology Care manicure and pedicure is dry. We don't soak, not even a short rinse, because soaking softens skin and nails and raises the risk of infection.
  • We gently push back cuticles or leave them alone. We never cut.
  • Nails are filed gently and kept short and smooth, so they snag less while they grow out.
  • Non-toxic polish seals and protects. A light, slow massage uses fragrance-free oil.
  • Files and buffers are new and single-use, and pedicures are in our pipeless basin.

Facials

  • We treat your skin as it is today, with soothing, hydrating, fragrance-free care.
  • Massage is light and slow, meant to calm, not to work out knots. We never work over a port, an incision or a radiation area.
  • Peels, microcurrent, red light, extractions, lash lifts and tints wait until your care team says yes.

Your room

The diffuser is off and the linens are fragrance-free if you'd like. A warm blanket is ready, and you lie face-up with pillows wherever you need them. Take all the time you need getting on and off the bed.

Clean, and then some

Illinois requires us to clean and disinfect between every guest, and we always do. For Oncology Care we go further:

  • Your Rose wears a fresh mask and fresh nitrile gloves for the whole service. We'll offer you a mask too.
  • Metal tools are disinfected again right before your visit and opened in front of you.
  • Files, buffers and anything else single-use are new, and they go home with you or in the trash.
  • Products are scooped into a clean dish with a clean spatula. Nothing goes back in the jar.
  • Every surface you'll touch is wiped down again just before you arrive.
  • If your Rose is under the weather, even with a mild cold, we'll match you with another Rose or find you a new time.

When we'll pause

We never diagnose or treat a health condition. We adjust our care to what your body is going through today. If we see something your care team should look at first, like new swelling, redness around a nail or your port, or you're just not feeling well, we'll stop and rebook you as soon as they give the OK.
