Your First Facial in Downtown Naperville: What to Expect

If you've never had a facial, or your last one came with a hard sell and a mask that stung, it makes sense to want to know what you're walking into. This is your first facial at Lena Rose in downtown Naperville, from the parking spot to the last deep breath before you leave, so the only thing left to do on the day is lie down.

Which facial to book first

Most first-timers choose one of two. The Classic Lena Facial is 35 minutes: a cleanse, exfoliation and an Apoterra mask under warm steam, finished with a balm or facial oil. It's face only, so you don't change clothes, and it's the gentlest way to find out how your skin likes facials. It's $95.

If you'd like the full hour, the 60 Minute Custom Facial adds a long face and décolleté massage, a warm compress, a hand and arm massage, and LED light chosen for your skin. Prefer everything plant-based? The Plant Powered Facial is 100% vegan.

Not sure? Call the shop at (630) 335-7775 and a Rose will help you choose. You'll find every facial and price on our organic facials in Naperville page.

Finding us in downtown Naperville

Lena Rose has taken care of skin in Chicago since 2016 and in downtown Naperville since 2023. You'll find us at 14 W. Jackson Ave., right next to Einstein Bagels. If you can smell bagels, you're at the right door. There's free street parking on Jackson Avenue and Chicago Avenue, and a parking deck one block away.

We're open Wednesday through Friday, 10 to 7, and Saturday and Sunday, 10 to 6. Plan to arrive five to ten minutes early so nothing about the start feels rushed.

Before you arrive

When you book, add anything we should know to your booking notes: pregnancy, treatment history, reactive skin, prescription skincare, a scent sensitivity, or simply that you'd like a quiet visit. If you're pregnant or in treatment, check with your care team first, then tell us. Our Roses are trained in oncology protocols and trained for chemical sensitivities, so none of this needs an explanation or an apology.

A card holds your spot and isn't charged until after your service. If plans change, give us 24 hours' notice and there's no charge.

When you walk in

Every guest hears "Welcome in." You'll be greeted by name and offered tea, and the shop smells like flowers, not nail polish. Makeup on or off is fine. If you'd rather not chat, say so. A quiet appointment is a real option here, and nobody will take it personally.

The conversation comes first

Your facial starts with a short intake form and then a real conversation: what your skin has been doing, what you've been using, and what you'd like from today. Bring your own products if you want us to look at them. Drugstore cleanser, a ten-step routine or nothing at all, there's no judgment here. We'd rather know what your skin is used to than guess.

What happens in the treatment room

A Lena Rose esthetician's hands cradle a client's temples during a facial, the client's eyes closed

Your esthetician cleanses, exfoliates, treats, masks and massages, adjusting as they go based on how your skin responds. In the custom facials, that includes LED light, red or blue, chosen for your skin.

Everything that touches your skin is clean, non-toxic and chosen on purpose: whole-plant lines from small, independently owned makers like Laurel Skin and Blissoma, and our own House Line, made by hand in the lab at our Naperville location, just outside Chicago. No synthetic fragrance, parabens or formaldehyde. And because Jenny, our founder, is allergic to latex herself, Lena Rose has been latex-free from day one: nitrile gloves only, never latex or vinyl.

Ask to see any bottle we use, and we'll show you exactly what went on your skin.

How it ends

Every facial at Lena Rose ends the same way: three deep breaths, the soft ring of a ting sha chime, and written at-home notes so you know what your skin needs until next time. Take a minute before you stand up. That time belongs to you.

How often to come back

For most skin, a facial each season works best: four times a year, at the turns, plus a simple routine at home. Fall is a lovely time to start, as your skin moves from summer sun into dry, heated air. Your esthetician can talk through a rhythm that fits your skin.

Before you leave: no tipping

The price on the menu is the full price. Lena Rose is the first non-tipping salon in the Naperville area. Every Rose is a W-2 employee paid a living wage with paid leave and benefits, so nobody depends on tips. If you'd like to thank your Rose, seeing you again or leaving a review is the best thank-you. You can book your next visit at the desk before you go, or ask about our membership.
